These Golfers Attended GMS Wanting To Break 80

“A Hole In One And First Time Breaking 90!” (16 Strokes Better In Less Than 10 Days)

Hey Jeff,

Just wanted to drop you a note on how my dad and my golf trip to the Greenbriar Resort went. Today we played on the "Old White Course", the same one they just played the PGA Tour Event on 2 weeks ago.

The 3rd hole was a 190 yard par 3 and I hit 4 iron. By the time we got up to the green, we realized it was a hole in one.

I know one hole doesn't make the golfer, so you will be happy to hear what I learned at GMS carried over to the rest of the round; I shot an 89. Having never come close to the 80's (usually scoring above 105), I can do nothing but thank you for all the help you and the GMS drills have provided me.

Thank you so much for everything,

“From Over 100 To Now In The 80’s!" In Less Than 3 Months!

Hi Alex -

Since attending the Golf Made Simple taught by Marc, I have really done well. I have gone from having games in the 100-105 range to consistently in the 90 – 92 area and a few 88’s and 89’s.

I am on the Golf Channel Amateur tour and I Qualified for their National Tournament (In no small part due to GMS)  at TPC Sawgrass down your way.

“I Broke 80 For The First Time!" From High 90's And 100+ To 78!

Alex, I broke 80 for the first time. When I attended my GMS session I was continuously in the high nineties with an occasional 100+ thrown in.

In my 60s and playing the 6,300 yd tees, I shot a 78 at a local course. I told everyone I didn't want to know how well I was doing going into the last 9 holes. I was just determined to do my best. On the last hole, I stuck to my plan, laid back away from all the trouble, and made par.  I actually made par on the last 4 holes).

“From Trying To Break 100 To Scoring An 87!" (In Less Than 9 Months!)

I came to GMS a little less than a year ago. I am proud to report that I had my first hole-in-one about three months ago and last month I scored an 87.

When I came to GMS my goal was just to try and break 100, now I regularly shoot in the 90s and my new goal is to get to the 80’s more often ...your article in the last issue of Golf Improvement Weekly about shooting 83 was most timely.

Thank you,

“From Mid To High 90’s To An 83!"

Just wanted to report that after my brief chat using your Instructor For Life program, my road to improvement continues. Since attending GMS, I have been regularly shooting in the high 80’s.

That is way better than before I attended the Golf Made Simple school, but I knew I could get even lower. Well, the other day I shot an 83 for the first time and it felt really good. Even at the time, I knew that I had left about 4 shots on the course so a 79 is definitely in my future.

The difference after just a brief Instructor for Life chat was that I reassessed what I had been doing, reverted to a better takeaway and remembered my tick tock. Those two things led me directly to my 83...and 79 awaits - perhaps tomorrow.

Thanks again for a great program.

“GMS Again Exceeded Our High Expectations!” (The Instructors You Select For GMS Are Absolutely Fantastic!)

Just wanted to let you know, we were a little worried that after twice attending GMS level 1, we might not be as enthusiastic a third time ... after all, we had 2 wonderful experiences. Our Instructor, Alan would have some very high expectations to meet.

Well, it was fantastic! Alan exceeded our high expectations and we were blown away with how much we learned (again). The Instructors you select for GMS are absolutely excellent; we have been more impressed with each class we have taken. The consistency of the program and the reinforcement of the key elements helps me build on my learning each time.

I am very excited to see my golf game continue to improve. Thank you for all you do to coordinate and accommodate the students of GMS.

“I Cut 7 Strokes Off My Score!” (And Now I Know How To Correctly Hit Down On The Ball!)

I snuck in 9 holes over the weekend (after attending GMS) and scored significantly better than I did when playing on a golf trip 3 weeks ago.  I cut 7 strokes off my score since I now know how to correctly hit down on the golf ball and I have a better pace of swing.

The 3 days I spent with GMS has changed my golf game forever and for the better.

Thanks again.

“I Broke 80!” (I Now Feel Like A Player!)

Marc, I attended GMS in Tampa in February and my goal for the class was to break 80. I'm glad to say that I accomplished that goal during a golf trip to Myrtle Beach last week. When I got to the 5th tee, I concentrated on all of the items I could remember from the GMS class. I then proceeded to play 2 over for the last 14 holes, with 2 bogeys and 2 birdies to shoot 40-38 for a 78. As I came to GMS as a 16 handicap (my current index is a 13 and it should go even lower), this was a career round for me. I then followed that round with a 38 at my local course on Saturday afternoon. So I finally have something on Ray Romano, I broke 80 and didn't even need Hank Haney, but did have the "Tick Tock" to get me to that score. Maybe Ray should try one of your 3 day GMS schools!!! Your program works if you apply the techniques. I now truly feel like a Player instead of a Monkey, knowing what I am capable of accomplishing on the golf course. Thanks again for all your drills and for giving me the tools to find success on the Golf Course,

“I Went From A 14.6 to 9.7 and Shot a 75!” (A 33% Improvement!)

I attended GMS in Phoenix (22-24 January, 2010) and have enjoyed my golf more this year after attending. My Handicap index was 14.6 when I attended – it is now 9.7 and I can now say I’ve achieved all my golf goals for the year.

My main aim was to get my index to single figures and now I’ve managed to do it. I can only put it down to a combination of the skills and drills picked up at GMS and having a plan.

My other goals were to increase distance with my drives – I’d estimate I’ve added approximately 30 yards to my average distance.

My target low score was 75, which I achieved in September at Ocotillo (where you need to have a plan on every hole or you end up making many sacrifices to the Water Gods). That was a practice round before a tournament. Then during the tournament I shot a 78, so I was pleased.

I love reading the Golf Improvement Weekly. Mid-year, I probably got too focused on my scores (see “small bump” in graph) – but a GIW covered that aspect, so I went back to basics. Learning how to practice constructively has played a huge role in my enjoyment of the game – now my next big decision is which GMS I attend next?

Spain sounds interesting………
