The Next GMS Location Is ...

Welcome To Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club
This could be the biggest announcement GMS has ever made!
GMS is proud to announce that we have reached an agreement to add a new location in Tampa, Florida at the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club.
If the name – Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club sounds familiar – it might be because it hosts a PGA Tour Event each March at their amazing Copperhead Golf Course. Which is said to be the most popular golf course on the PGA Tour schedule - in fact Ernie Els has said: "This is probably Florida's best golf resort ... and I personally think the Copperhead layout is the best golf course that the PGA Tour visits in Florida."

I can't tell you how excited we are to be involved with Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club. Located just 20 minutes from the Tampa International airport – Innisbrook is incredible!
How good is Innisbrook? To put it candidly – the PGA Tour only gives March dates (leading up to the Masters) to golf courses that are fantastic. And besides the Copperhead Course – Innisbrook also has an excellent golf course in the Island Course which was just made even better with a $2 million renovation. And there are some Golfers I know that like the Island course even more than the Copperhead. Yet, if that's not enough great golf on one property – Innisbrook Resort also has the Highlands North Course and the Highlands South Course.
Four excellent golf courses in one resort.

Accommodations? Wow! Let's start with the 800 square foot Executive Suites and work our way up. These Suites are fantastic! Every Suite has a balcony or porch looking over the golf course or a lawn area, high speed internet, parlor area with a sofa, etc., etc., etc.
Let's just call the Executive Suite our standard room. We also have availability for One Bedroom Suites (980 square feet) and Two Bedroom Suites (1,400 square feet). In fact we already have a GMS Platinum Program that has booked a Two Bedroom Suite in April. They're going to have 3 great days with Myself and Hayden!
What else? How about the new Spa with 12 treatment rooms, Jacuzzi, outdoor fire pit, relaxation pool, steam rooms, and a full service salon.

Are you going to be hungry during your 3 day GMS Program? Well you have Packards Steakhouse with their new chef who comes with a pretty extensive background which includes cooking for two US Presidents along with Queen Elizabeth. He specializes in using only fresh ingredients - nothing from a can.

A Pool? Of course, in fact they have 6 pools including (especially if you want to bring the kids) the 3 acre fun park that includes the Loch Ness Monster Pool with waterslides.
The beach? You're just a free 5 minute shuttle ride to the beach at Honeymoon Island State Park – which Dr. Beach has said is one of the best beaches in America! Yes, the resort offers a free shuttle to the beach – you can also rent beach chairs and towels, along with having the Resort prepare you a box lunch so you could spend the day at the beach.
One of the great possibilities with GMS being at Innisbrook Resort is all the options for individuals that want to see us, but have someone they're traveling with being a non-Golfer. Or if you want to make a family trip, but you want to make sure there are things for the family to do while you're working on your golf game.
At Innisbrook, there's so much for them to do as you're further improving your golf game with GMS. Besides the aforementioned spa, pools and beach - there's the fitness center, bike riding, nature trails and the whole tennis center with 11 Har-Tru courts – 7 of which are lighted.
What's in the area around Innisbrook? First and foremost – Tarpon Springs. Tarpon Springs is a historic Greek Village that gained fame for its sponge divers and fantastic Greek Restaurants. Tampa and St. Petersburg are just a short drive away with the Busch Gardens Amusement Park, The Salvador Dali Museum, Ybor City, the NHL's Tampa Lightning and the NY Yankees spring training facility is also in Tampa (go watch Jeter and A-Rod knock the ball out of the park).
Wow – there's so much. But just remember two things – the golf courses are awesome (or the PGA Tour wouldn't be there every March). And if you have someone that doesn't play golf, but wants to get away and sit by the pool or spa or tennis – this is the place!
GMS is now accepting sign-ups for our newest location at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club - classes start on November 21st and will run on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday and a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday schedule. For more specifics on Rates and Dates - click here »

What’s the most important distance you should know before selecting a golf club and hitting a shot to the green?

Boy, you really got that one wrong. Maybe that’s why many Golfers hit so few Greens in Regulation. Next round, find the yardage to the center of the green and add 10 to 20 yard onto that number (to find the distance to the back of the green). How much you add depends on the depth of the green. If you do so, I can almost guarantee that you’ll hit a least one more Green in Regulation than you normally do!
"Huge Improvement From Over 114 to 98!"
Hi Hayden,
I am pleased to tell you that I am playing the best golf I have ever played shooting 98 to 103 on a regular basis which is a huge improvement from the 114 (or more) that I was scoring before the GMS course. I put this down to you telling me that my irons were too long and buying new ones that fit me better (I now love my irons) and also the driver that you recommended was an amazing impovement and gave me great confidence off the tee.
Also I use my plan every time I play by playing to what I know I can achieve and keeping my ball in play rather than taking a club that I hope will get me where I want to be. So all in all I am getting the full benefit, so thank you.
Kind regards,

Attended St. Augustine location on January 21st to 23rd, 2008
"A Hole In One and Improved Handicap!"
Alex,
A big hi from wet and cold Dublin, Ireland!! Well the season is now closed for full competitions (14 holes from now until April). Collette had a hole in one this week at Hermitage Golf Club in the Ladies Tuesday Competition and has improved her handicap 3 shots to a 19 handicap.
I won a medal play competition in September at my club (The Royal Dublin Golf Club) and improved my handicap from a 14 to a 12. This is a great result!!! I base this improvement all on attending GMS in Amelia Island in May.
Hope you guys are well. And maybe we will see you next year!!
Best Regards,
John D – Dublin, Ireland – Sent October 30th, 2008
Attended Amelia Island location on May 19th to 21st, 2008

36 Putts Aren’t Good Enough!
This past week’s PGA Tour Event in Northeast Florida was won by Ryan Palmer. But let’s compare his 1st round score of 5 under par 67 to Travis Perkins’ score of 6 over par 78 (an 11 shot difference). What caused these two good Players to go in different directions in Round 1? Here are their Round 1 stats:
Driving Accuracy: Palmer – 9 Fairways hit; Perkins – 10 Fairways hit
Driving Distance: Palmer – 280 yards a drive; Perkins – 300 yards a drive
Greens in Regulation: Palmer – 13 Greens in Regulation; Perkins – 12 Greens in Regulation
Hmmm, it appears that these two Players hit the golf ball very similar. Neither really hit the ball much better than the other. Though, one Player walked away with $828,000 and the other walked away with nothing. So why was there an 11 stroke difference in their scores?
Maybe it had a little to do with the fact that Palmer had 26 putts and Perkins had 36 putts. Most Golfers take their putting too lightly. And this is a prime example – a Player that came close to last place hit the ball just as well as the Player that came in first place! So, please don’t ever say that you’re a good putter because you hardly ever 3 putt. Because if you did practice your putting – you’d find that your scores could improve dramatically without even improving your ballstriking one bit!

"How To Hit The Golf Ball Farther"
Excerpted from Golf Improvement Weekly – Classic Issue 217 – November 7th, 2007
"Hitting the golf ball farther should be a priority of yours. If you look at the top Golfers in the world – the majority of them hit the golf ball a good distance. The problem is that many Golfers continually hit bad golf shots because of their quest to hit the golf ball farther.
For the struggling Golfer – hitting the golf ball longer usually comes down to swinging harder. For the Player – hitting the golf ball longer comes down to having an efficient golf swing so that every part of your body is moving together. There’s a huge difference between these two strategies.
Which strategy for distance do ...
