These Golfers Attended GMS Wanting To Break 100
Took the 1.0 course with GMS over Thanksgiving Holiday in La Quinta.
Learned much more than I expected. I am so much farther ahead of the other golfers I play with now.
We had a great Instructor that was disciplined yet personable. He held us to a high standard and led us to be Players.
Also using the correct swing has eased my back strain. This is a direct result of using my core and thigh muscles to swing the club, rather than just my hands and arms.
It is really amazing all the swing errors my Instructor could see; yet he taught us the correct motions for my swing - rather than focus on the imperfections.
I look forward to taking more classes from GMS in the future. I now really enjoy the game thanks to GMS.

Hi Marc -
We just completed your school at the Phoenix location & wanted to take this opportunity to let you know how much we enjoyed the school & the instructor, CJ.
Although we have only been playing golf for a short time, we had of course developed some bad habits. CJ was extremely patient & took great lengths to explain why what we were currently doing was not the best approach. And then explain drills & techniques that will benefit our game.
After doing a drill & then hitting balls, it seemed that CJ would take more pleasure than we would after hitting a good shot as a result of the drill. Another great example of your method of teaching is that whenever we would hit a good or bad shot, CJ would ask us why we felt the shot was good or bad before offering his analysis. This would allow us to analyze our shots to develop a better feel for what we were doing instead of relying on him to directly critique the play.
Although we have taken many lessons since we have started playing golf, this is the first "school" & it is amazing how being totally immersed in the training for 3 straight days is so much better than short lessons spread over a period of time. Even though the days were long, CJ kept the atmosphere fun & enjoyable.
The GMS system for instruction coupled with CJ's passion for teaching certainly made a positive impression on us.

Just got back from my 3 day GMS golf program in Carmel, NY. Beautiful facility and a great Instructor that has an uncanny ability to see issues almost instantaneously.
I searched long and hard for a golf instructional program outside of the "typical" periodic lessons from PGA professionals, that I discovered over many years was of no benefit for game improvement.
What attracted me to GMS was the philosophy of getting to the core of the problem. Ironically, my discovery was if the core or center of gravity was used properly, this was the main factor that determined an individuals ability to make the type of shots that they long for.
The course has many great drills and information that ultimately brings you back to the core of the problem. Keeping everything simple and proving that all individuals personal swings are the same regardless of club used was an added bonus.
Just prior to taking GMS, I was over thinking the concept about the different types of swings needed for different types of clubs. Now, I was able to pick up different clubs and hit them equally well for the first time in my life. No longer will I believe that hitting a 3 iron is hard for everyone.
Also, never realized how much of an impact length of swing on the takeaway had as long as the swing mechanics were in proper alignment due to the correct position of the center of gravity. This can logically be seen with improper swing mechanics, but not nearly to the degree of when things are done properly. This alone provides many additional tools and approaches to anyone's golf game.
After all these years of positive feedback, I won't be able to write anything that hasn't already been written. Just re-enforcing to everyone that GMS is the answer.

I want to tell you how much I enjoyed my 2 days with you in Santa Barbara! But mostly how much I enjoyed learning from you. I am excited as my game is 100% better!
I have practiced a lot, working on specific things (mostly getting on to my left side). 6 balls for every club. Two days ago I had NO duffers!
I played 9 holes with a friend and she was amazed at my improvement.
I never thought I could improve and actually feel so much better playing! Thanks to YOU this has happened.
I am doing a lot of traveling until the new year, but will try to work out my GMS schedule soon. I am thinking of Phoenix in the winter.
All the best,

JP - wanted to thank you for being a terrific coach this past week. You are clearly an excellent golf pro and learning from you was a real treat for me.
Having never taken a lesson and being self-taught (or more appropriately self-mangled) for 40 years, you had an incredibly tough job in trying to get me to break decades-old bad habits and accept the 'right way' to both strike a golf ball and plan my shots and rounds.
I now understand what I need to do, whereas before I didn't even know what to do....I was just making it up as I went along, mostly based on visual observations and advice from 'the monkeys’.
Thanks again for a terrific week.

Chris - Just a note to thank you for all you did for Linda, Cory and I at GMS.
It was a lot of work, fun and very instructive. Having a hard time keeping Cory off the course. He had a 96 Monday!
I am having a ball. So many great shots and when they are not, back to the box for the “Step Drill”.
I enjoy going to the range and doing my drills; and when something goes wrong, I know what is is and immediately correct it.
Thank you again; look forward to seeing you in December

Dear Marc, Alexandria, and Alex,
This email is a tad bit over due, but Paul and I are having so much fun and success playing golf!
As a bit of history, we are both retired teachers and we chose to attend GMS in Carmel, NY. We had attended a different golf school several years ago as well as having private golf lessons in previous years.
The instruction that we received from GMS was so much more helpful. The drills make sense and the results are evident. Our Instructor, JP, was such an easy person to work with as well as friendly and professional.
We have shared our experience at Golf Made Simple with many of our friends and would recommend it to anyone who was serious about improving his or her golf game. Thank you for a rewarding experience.

I’m writing in follow up to my GMS Instruction. First, the instruction was excellent, well beyond my expectations!
GMS has helped a great deal in being more consistent and a better ball striker. I must admit that I have played way more than I have practiced since attending the class, but I’m looking forward to working on the drills and have a lot more range (practice / drill) time planned.
I just couldn’t resist trying to implement what I had learned on the course. I was only able to attend GMS for two days due to prior commitments on the final day. If I had known or had some appreciation of the quality of the GMS Instruction - I would have re-arranged my schedule.
My instructor was Steve Phillips and he was exceptional. He taught the way I that I learn. A perfect measure of how and why - with practical implementation followed by instant feedback.

I took GMS in Florida in March 2006. Yes, that was more than seven years ago. Yet, every time I play golf, I take the printout with me that I got when I was a student there. It contains many of the drills that I practiced with you, e.g. the parallel hands drill, and playing with a PLAN to avoid trouble.
I always practice on the driving range the way I was taught at GMS — In other words, I am practicing controlling length of swing, centerness of hit, and ALWAYS, ALWAYS “tick tock” with every swing I take…whether on the tee, the fairway or the green. I don’t even think about all the crazy things that guys I play with (monkeys) think about when they swing: like their shoulder turn, hips, shape of swing and all the other things that would drive me crazy if I had to think about them while swinging.
It’s really simple, as you just say your “tick tock” for that smooth pendulum-like swing and weight shift.
This weekend, I was playing golf in the Outer Banks, NC with some friends and shot a 93. That may not sound great to you, but it is the first time I have ever broken 100, and I did it with authority. In other words, I played the best round of my life this weekend and I am over the age of 60. Why am I writing you about this? Because I truly believe I owe it all to the GMS course I took in 2006. I have continued practicing the great drills I learned there and more importantly, keeping it simple, and it has paid off in a score I do not have to be embarrassed about shooting.
Bottom line is that I have taken other golf lessons (all prior to 2006), but only one has stuck with me and proven to be my guiding light over the years—GMS. And this weekend, I feel I can truly say that the GMS course has paid off in a big way. It may have been seven years ago when I took the course, but I have probably played fewer than 50 times since then. More importantly, I know I will continue to practice the GMS drills and say “tick tock” with every swing, and I know that my game will remain competitive with my golfing buddies. I no longer need to be embarrassed about the way I play, and I give all the credit to GMS. Truth is, I can’t thank you enough for that.

Hi Hayden, My Instructor For Life!
Bill and I had a wonderful 3 days with you. I appreciated how you were able to differentiate instruction while still maintaining the basic format. I really wanted Bill to join me so that he would understand the philosophy of GMS. Last year after GMS I got mad at him when his advice would be "don't lift your head" or you aren't turning your shoulders. I wish I could have asked him instead "which exercise do you think I need to focus on?" I knew that would improve after his GMS experience.
The result was that he felt your instruction was valuable to him and we're planning to come back next year.
Today, I was striking the golf ball much better than ever. I couldn't believe how far my balls were going. I was even doing well with my hybrid!!!
I wanted to thank you for the wonderful 3 days of instruction. You worked just as hard as we did! We really enjoyed it!
