Golf Lessons Your Way

There are many reasons why the “30 minute, once a week golf lesson” doesn’t compare to helping your swing . First, the simple fact of having the ability to work with your Instructor over a longer period of time is essential to seeing golf swing improvements that stick.

If you took a poll from Golfers that have taken a 30 minute lesson and asked what is the #1 disappointment pertaining to the golf lesson … the #1 answer would be “my improvements didn’t stick when I tried it without my Instructor”.

With the process that GMS uses … you’ll see swift improvements, and through repetition with your Instructor nearby, your improvements will stick. This extra time with your Instructor allows them to get deep into your golf swing so that you understand what causes your bad shots. When you do that, you can fix your golf swing within a couple of swings … as opposed to suffering through another 7 or 8 bad holes collecting double bogies and frustration.

If we can give you some important advice: one thing that is absolutely essential to improving your golf swing, is the process of going from working with your Instructor on the practice area in the morning … to having the Instructor then take you onto the golf course for On-Course Instruction.

This is how the PGA/LPGA Tour Players do it with their coaches … and it is the way that you should be doing it also.

Not just 1 or 2 holes … it’s 6 holes of On-Course Instruction. Anyone can play well for 1 or 2 holes … however, we want to see how well your golf swing holds up while playing multiple holes.

We’re not just helping you with improving your driving range swing … we’re helping you improve your golf course swing!

Personalization is the key to successful golf instruction. This is not just any golf swing you’re trying to improve … this is your golf swing … so personalization is critical. With GMS limiting each date to only four Golfers, it allows us to personalize our Instruction to each person.

In addition, you may be surprised with how much one on one time you receive from your Instructor each day. Thus you’ll have personal time with your Instructor to really work on your swing. Unfortunately, one of the biggest misconceptions Golfers have is that absolute one on one Instruction is the best way to learn. Actually, it can be the worst experience for you because often times the Instructor will be guilty of “over teaching”.

As most Golfers would agree – when we’re playing badly … we often have too many things we’re thinking about. This happens with “over teaching”.

With GMS – we have a system in place that assures that you’ll have more personal Instruction with your Instructor than you expect … but not more than you need.

Every Golfer needs a PLAN in order to see improvement with their golf swing and overall golf game. Improvement doesn’t happen just because you learned a few swing mechanics during a golf lesson and then went to the driving range to hit golf balls using those new swing mechanics.

Improvement is made once you have a PLAN to implement those improvements, as well as an understanding of how to consistently execute your PLAN so those improvements stick. Most Golfers fail to see improvements stick after taking a normal golf lesson. Why? Because there was no PLAN on how to implement those improvements besides just “hitting a lot of golf balls at the driving range”.

With GMS your PLAN goes far beyond swing changes and tedious repetitions, you’ll be learning to apply your new skills under course-like conditions to ensure you play better golf where it really matters … on the course!

We have put our program’s insights and drills on a Player Page for you! Your page lists all the Swing Drills you will use in your GMS Program, how to do the drills, and why you should continue to do each drill.

It also includes all the Putting Drills that you will be using to improve and to smooth out your putting stroke. This will also be a place for your notes from your Green Reading session, and, let me assure you, our Green Reading Program goes way above and beyond just squatting down to see the contours of the green; this is much more precise than that!

One of the most important parts of learning is taking a break where you can let your mind relax and process all that you have learned. Each day, we sit down and have lunch together.

At GMS we believe: “When You Succeed in Golf … We Succeed in Golf!”

Thus, it’s in our best interest that you’re hitting the golf ball better than ever. We want you hitting the golf ball so well … that your friends are impressed and notice your improvement. Thus, we’re going to do everything we can to make this happen for you.

This is why GMS has grown to the most attended Multi-Day Golf Instruction Program. Golfers come to see us because they know GMS works … they have either seen the improvements in their own golf swings, the golf swings of their friends, colleagues, or other Golfers they have met on the golf course that swear by GMS!

3-Day Schedule

*Listed times may vary based on location and weather

DAY ONE

BALL STRIKING – 9:00-12:30
You will be working on the Four Factors of your golf swing. This will allow you to strike the golf ball better than you ever have, along with learning to feel your golf swing so that you can understand the Strengths, Weaknesses and Corrections that are necessary to make a consistent golf swing.

You’ll be working on some excellent GMS drills that will allow you to make incredible improvement. The first thing you’ll feel and notice is that you’ll be making more solid contact with the golf ball on every golf swing. You’re guaranteed to hear “Wow, that feels good!” from a Golfer within the first 15 minutes.

You will be striking the golf ball more solid in the first 15 minutes of Day One than you ever have before! And that will continue throughout the day and into Day Two.

LUNCH – 12:30-1:30
Lunch with your Instructor.

YOUR PLAN – 1:00-2:00
You’re back on the practice area with your Instructor working on your PLAN and how to “visualize” your golf shot before even hitting it. You will learn to PLAN your shot using the GMS Visualization Technique – ‘See It, Feel It, Do It’.

You’ll be working on ‘See It, Feel It, Do It’ as you’re learning to control the height you hit your golf ball with your wedges around the green. Using this Technique – you’ll be learning how to become more skilled around the green by learning to create backspin so that you can play either a controlled low shot that stops after a couple of hops, a medium shot with a little roll and/or a high shot that sits softly.

This hour is so valuable in your quest for consistency. Unfortunately, many Golfers have the bad habit of leaving their golf swing on the driving range – this session will help you to take your golf swing onto the golf course.

ON-COURSE INSTRUCTION – 2:30-3:45
You will go on the golf course to play 6 holes of golf while your Instructor works with you to continue the improvements you made in the morning. The hardest thing for a Golfer to do is to bring his/her driving range swing onto the golf course … so your Instructor will be working with you so that you strike the ball better on the golf course.

Your Instructor does not play – they are focused on your golf game and helping you to play your best. So if you do hit a bad shot where you reverted back to a bad habit – your Instructor will be there to help you overcome this before your next swing. This will allow you to self diagnose your bad golf swings when you get back home and allow you to self correct – virtually eliminating blow-up holes.

You will love this part of the day because you’ll be working with your Instructor and playing better than ever on the golf course.

CHALK TALK REVIEW – 3:45-4:00
A review of the day, as well as preview of Day Two. Reflect on the day, ask questions, take notes and talk about what to expect for Day Two.

DAY TWO

YOUR GOLF SWING – 9:00-11:30
You will get even deeper into your golf swing and the movements to create consistency. From Irons to Driver you’ll improve your swing. Each Drill leads into the next Drill so that your golf swing gets progressively better and more effective.

PUTTING – 11:30-12:30
An improved putting stroke maybe the fastest way to improve your score. So in our quest to help you make more 1 putts – you’ll be learning to have total control over your putting stroke on the way back and through. Being able to do this is critical to improving your putting stroke (and your scores).

Many Golfers aren’t as in control of their putting stroke as they need to be, which causes you to miss-hit the golf ball. And although a miss-hit with your putter isn’t as obvious as a miss-hit with you Driver – it wastes just as many strokes. A miss-hit putt doesn’t mean a wayward putt … in-other-words: if you’re constantly ending 3 feet short of the hole or going 5 feet by the hole – you’re miss-hitting your putts. Constantly ending up short of the hole usually isn’t just a function of not putting the ball hard enough; just as going too much past the hole doesn’t just mean you hit the ball too hard. There’s so much more that goes into better putting.

LUNCH – 12:30-1:30
Lunch with your Instructor.

GREEN READING – 1:30-2:30
This is often the most talked about part of our program. Most Golfers only know how to squat down to look at the green to know which way the slope is going.

Good Green Reading goes well beyond whether the ball will ‘break’ to the left or right. GMS helps you to feel the green and understand how speed affects break. And you’ll start to use these new Green Reading techniques as soon as you hit the golf course around 2:30 pm.

ON-COURSE INSTRUCTION – 2:30-3:45
You will go on the golf course to play another 6 holes of golf while your Instructor works with you to continue the improvements you made in the morning and on Day One. This is a continuation of the On-Course Instruction completed on Day One … further enhancing your ability to take your driving range swing onto the golf course successfully.

CHALK TALK REVIEW – 3:45-4:00
Reflect on the day, ask questions, take notes and talk about what to expect for Day Three.

DAY THREE

DRIVER – 9:00-11:30
This is the next progression to a better Driver Swing and Full Swing. Again the drills you use today are a continuation from the Day One and Day Two Drills.

PUTTING – 11:30-12:30
Day Three is a continuation of Day Two where you started with learning how to control your putter to control your stroke all the way back and through. You learned how to hit in the center of the putter face consistently and how being just an 1/8th of an inch away from the center could cause you to have a 15 foot putt stop 5 feet short of the hole (risking a 3 putt). Today you will take this a step farther.

LUNCH – 12:30-1:30
Lunch with your Instructor.

SAND BUNKER – 1:30-2:30
You will be learning the simplest, most effective method to getting out of the sand bunker. Most Golfers struggle getting out of the sand. You will be getting out in one shot before you know it. You will be using the GMS Four Levels of Bunker Play to become a skilled Golfer out of the sand.

ON-COURSE INSTRUCTION – 2:30-3:45
You’ll be focused on bringing your best golf swing onto the course and further establishing your PLAN.

CHALK TALK REVIEW – 3:45-4:00
Reflect on the day, ask questions, take notes and talk about your personal PLAN for long-term improvement.

This is a review of your keys to success and a look forward to how you’re going to use specific drills to continue improving once you get back home.
